From May 18 to 20, 2013, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and surrounding counties experienced severe storms and tornadoes, including an EF-5 tornado that struck the City of Moore on May 20, 2013. The EF-5 tornado damaged nearly 2,400 residential homes, of which at least 1,100 appeared to be totally destroyed, leaving nothing but debris and wreckage. As a result of the severe storms and tornadoes, Oklahoma reported 26 fatalities and more than 387 injuries.
